Helped a travel tech company find a CFO with experience in investment and operational finance management
TASK
Find a Financial Director who is ready to develop a technology company and bring it to an IPO
The company with B2B and B2C businesses in the travel industry approached us with the task of finding an employee for the role of CFO. The Financial Director had to take on 2 functions at once: work with investments and operational financial management.

At the same time, there were clear requirements for the candidate's experience:
— CFO, but not in the public sector
— Investment D
— Big3
Stage 1
solution
Studied key competitors using point search
We've chosen the point search method: we identified companies that are close to the customer in terms of financial performance, direction and degree of development.

We got a wide funnel of 30 companies, after that we reduced it to 10 perfect-match companies
Stage 2
Conducted a research on the tech, e-com markets and public sector
There are few specialists with a set of competencies at the request of the client on the market, and almost all of them are engaged in long-term projects. There was no suitable candidate in tech and e-com companies. The client was sure that there were no necessary specialists in the public sector, but we decided to work on this area.
In total, during the search process, we identified 354 candidates, looked through resumes and competencies of 248 people. 5 candidates came out for an interview with a client, 1 received an offer.
result
Filled a key CFO position with dual functionality
in 6 months
The best candidate didn't meet the initial request, because he had previously worked in a state-owned company, but he suited in all other parameters: career track, hard and soft skills.

After the interview, the company chose this specialist for the position. We managed to close the complex role of CFO with dual functionality in 6 months.
